Max was home sick today. I was trying to help the kids learn a bit about the Papal Conclave coming up, but that seemed to bore them. HMMMM??? So we did the "Psalm Game". I made it up, on the fly. I am really trying to encourage the kids to freely express themselves in art. Coloring, drawing, building and creating are at the top of the list these days. I am always impressed by what Bella does. She has her dad's gift for art and drawing. Mike has a whole folder full ( maybe 200 pictures) of cartoon characters he drew as a child. The are very good, and Bella definitely has his talent.
Gloria drawing Psalm 14 |
Gloria just gets to scribble. I am still quite taken with her abilities to draw a circle on command at 19 months old. She is my singer though. She loves a good song!
Max's Psalm 59 picture |
Above is the image Max drew for Psalm 59. It is Moses and the burning bush, and Jesus on the cross...read Psalm 59:1-10 and then realize how BEAUTIFULLY he interpreted God's word. I was blown away! I often wonder if anything Catholic goes in his head, and God gave me this sweet gift this morning!

I admit that I am horrible at routine. Its been a resolution of mine this year to work my routine around my children, and to be MORE involved in their lives. Sharing their joys, fears, pains, and pleasures. It really is a task for me to humble myself to play kid games. I know my parents did this so well, so I have so clue why its hard for me. Today, I reaped some of the fruit of my effort. It was a beautiful day!
